Sudocrem For Acne Review (Does It Fade Red Marks & Scars)

Sudocrem For Acne Spots And Pimples

Sudocrem has been around for a long time, I remember my mother using it on me when I was a little boy but I never really knew what it was for or what it does. I am going to shed some light on sudocrem:

  • How it can be used on pimples, spots and zits (Acne)
  • How to use on acne (best results)
  • Does it work for acne scars (to see if it works or just a myth).
  • Does it fade red marks from acne

Essex Sudocrem Acne Review

Applying Sudocrem To A Stars Face From The Only Way Is Essex

Sudocrem is an antiseptic cream used for cuts, grazes, burns and nappy rashes for babies.

It looks like a white paste that is soft to touch (feels like thick custard) and easy to apply to skin. It contains antibacterial, anti-fungal properties and contains a weak anaesthetic. 79% is a water repellent base of waxes and oils and comes in a grey pot with a red/white label. Sudocrem is already in many households and can be found down your local pharmacy, store or supermarket and is mainly used for rashes, infections and cuts however it has proven to be useful for acne sufferers too.

How Does Sudocrem Help Acne Prone Skin?

  • It’s an Antiseptic so it kills bacteria. Natural bacteria live on our skin and bacteria can be one of the main causes of acne because it’s attracted to clogged pores and flourishes inside causing inflammation on the surface of the skin. This antiseptic cream will prevent acne becoming worse by reducing bacteria on the skin whilst keeping skin infection free.
  • Keeps moisture in the skin by leaving a protective layer over the applied area, this will prevent the skin from drying out. Sometimes it can help ‘draw’ out infections in wounds and pores. For acne it will not irritate or causes redness.
  • Helps healing and replenishing of skin cells that also promotes growth of new skin over marks. It will also help skin heal after a break in the skin from a pimple or spot.

Sudocrem can be purchases over the counter of any pharmacist or medical section in a store. It has become more and more popular for acne sufferers to use on their acne prone skin for mild cases of acne vulgaris. (I.e. pimples and acne breakouts 3-4 times a week). It can be used 2-3 times a day and will sooth angry red skin when used correctly and not trigger further acne breakouts. See my recent natural scar remover better than Bio oil.

How To Use Sudocrem For Acne

So you want to try this on your acne and want the best results? It’s simple really when you know how. Firstly if you have Sudocrem remove the lid and get a fingertip size on the end of your finger.

Massage the white cream into acne prone areas where there is visible inflammation or pimples in circular motions making sure that fingertips are clean and you’re gentle with skin. It’s that simple, just make sure the cream absorbs into skin to help heal and remove bacteria.

For best results use small amounts, this is because this paste is fairly thick so it may clog pores if too much is applied. You will be surprised; a small bit goes a long way.

The only bad point about using Sudocrem is that it is white in colour and noticeable once applied to skin in large amounts. Walking around with a white visible ‘blob’ on your skin can attract some strange attention so I personally recommend using it at night and leaving it on overnight.

Other uses are fungal infections, rashes and grazes/cuts.

The same directions apply to fungal infections, rashes and grazes/cuts as they would to acne prone skin however using larger amounts would gain better results.

Does Sudocrem Help Acne?

The Answer is yes it does. It’s a mild, antiseptic cream that has been used for many years and can help skin heal and reduce infections on the surface of the skin (Acne breakouts). It is simple and easy to apply while also being available almost all over the world. However It will not cure acne forever, instead it will just help sooth and heal acne prone skin that is inflamed and sore whilst preventing future breakouts. Even the celebrates from The Only Way Is Essex use it for pimples, blackheads and dry skin.

Using For Acne Scars & Red Marks *What You Need To Know*

Acne sadly leaves scars once it has gone and sudocrem unfortunately will not help scars or reduce swelling of existing scars. However regular use has shown to help red marks fade but not overnight. This is because it is only an antiseptic cream with mild ingredients. If you are looking for help with Acne Scars and stretch marks check out Bio Oil For Scarring or there are other natural ways. See my review on an 100% natural scar solution.

In conclusion this is a brilliant alternative to acne creams/treatments because it works well at healing skin and killing bacteria and preventing acne breakouts. This antiseptic healing cream works fast when used correctly and you can see results within a couple days. Sudocrem is a must try for people who suffer from pimples, blackheads and whiteheads that are looking for an inexpensive solution for their acne prone skin.
